December 04 Visiting @ Reuter Software On Tuesday 28, 2006 I have a great chance to visit a great company that work more quality and more efficient. This is a Reuter Thailand that placed at U Chu Lieng Bldg. Then, staffs from Reuter are start lecture. It is a funny lecture one.The big topic in this lecture is software process.
In the software process , They use this for easy to compute more data, convenience to use and have more quality to collect and use it.Process software cycle is depend on tool&utility procedure and people.Greater company develop this three things to be a great company.It can use imagination,idea, requirement market or new something and use to plan procedure step-by-step to get quality data or product.
The life cycle model used by the organization that serves as the example for this technical note is the Vee model.CMMI practices can be used for process improvement in most service organizations with little interpretation.However, by providing interpretation is consistent and straightforward throughout the organization to all that need to know model practices,This technical note offers one service organization's documented interpretation based on its use of CMMI best practices.
CMMI or Capability Maturity Model Integration they explain why they use this method to develop. It is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with essential elements of effective process.CMMI should be adapted to each individual company,therefore companies are not certified.

November 12 GILTIn November 07,2006 Khun Vichai Wattanawornwong who work in a huge company , IBM , was lectured about GILT ( Globalization, Internationalization, Localization and Translation ) that since 1300s to now, world were divided in 4 part time that depend on environment to make it good society among country around the world such as economics, political, health, technology or anything else. And most one of them among a long time is technology and trading that show you since translation in 1300s and this is a beginning of high-technology now. In translation, when trading we have a piece of paper to make trading easily although buyer or seller were used another language and can use this many times and keep it like database to know what you buy or sell. And parts of problem with the source text are 1. Changes made to the text during the translation process 2. Illegible or difficult-to-read text 3.Misspelled or misprinted text 4. Incomplete text or etc. Any type of written text can be a candidate for translation; however, the translation industry is often categorized by a number of areas of specialization. Each specialization has its own challenges and difficulties and this bring into localization In software development, after a product has been internationalized, "localization" refers to the process of making it ready for a specific market. Software localization is a process of translating software user interfaces from one language to another and adapting it to suit a foreign culture. This process is labor-intensive and often requires significant efforts from development teams. There are tools that can simplify the localization process. A lot of these projects get outsourced to specialized companies to cut costs. In localization, it can also refer to adapting software from one culture to another. October 23 Introduction to ICE Part "E"In October 17, 2006 Mr.Manoj Lohatepanont was lectured about engineering in Introduction to ICE The meaning of engineer is the kind of application of science which use knowledge, mathematics, practical experience to design of useful object and the source of energy in nature are made useful to people. The real engineer is the art of applying scientific and mathematical principles, experience, judgment, and common sense to make things benefit too many people. Engineering is a process of producing a technical product or system to meet a specific need. There are many faces of engineer because they created each faces to organize by traditional academic fields of study. The five largest of these are Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial and Mechanical but there are many faces including in Engineering Faculty such as Aerospace, Nuclear, Environment, Ocean, Agricultural, etc. Now, when you want to study in engineering faculty but you should know that which face specified you and make you to success in life. So, you should search any data to use to decision. The most one who want to entrance in this is computer engineering which design and develop computer system, operating system, database, algorithm, animation, microprocessor or another things that include technology. The new one is industrial engineering which organizes the people, information, energy to involve in the production process. They are concerned with plant design and management, quality control. It perform tasks such as finding the best location for a high-tech company’s new plant. And the last one which has an international program in Chulalongkorn is Automotive Design and Manufacturing Engineering is the part to mix Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical in this program. When you graduated in this program you can design mechanic of any car. When you study in engineering you must have skill problem to solving, Mathematics and logic to be a greater engineer but if you have any knowledge to combine this one. You will be just a greater one to do your job well soon.
October 16 Summarize Kanatana lectureIn 10 October, 2006 I have chance to talk and share experience with Mr. Napat Jungpatanapreecha (who work in line producer & software engineer in Kantana) and Mr. Mishabi Muqbil (who work in lead administrator in Kantana too). This two people have a part in the biggest animation movie in Thailand name “Khan Kluay” A little bit of Mr.Napat profile are graduated at Chulalongkorn University and study at USA then worked with Media Company in the USA such as Macromedia. For Mr. Mishabi profiles are he was a network administrator and was be a network admin in linux server and work with kantana for 3 years. Then, they were talk about process of Khan Kluay. First, they started by research at Ayudthaya where the real place in historic place is about 3 days for find background to use in this animation by used 80 peoples working on it and have 7 technical peoples from 80 peoples but before it was only 2 of them. Then, other processes were started by making the storyboard and draft plot and characters in this animation in Art & Design section. Make soundtrack to be theme song in this by using Macintosh in Sound recording section. To created characters, we use 3D programming such as Maya, Lightwave to create them in modeling section. In animation, they used their experience to control characters motion. Have shading & Lighting and Special FX to make truthfully animation by make shadow, light or etc. Use compositing to make up using hand paint. To be a good animation movie, it is a very hard thing to make it. Because it used more experience people in each section, used many colleagues and must check any little error point in this. They tell me that they used three main software to create a good one.And used for production. There are kinky , it help production in model, character theme to decorate it in each scene carefully such as help in sketching, modeling, rigging, texturing, even if location in ground or trees too. Frizzy is a plot or shot in storyboard by checking how many shot in this, stud for the production, prepare the animator to helps them to understand every step of the story from layer layout. And the last one is frenzy which is making model, distribute the job to another computer to lender it but it has chaos in sometime or make crowd in G-crowd. After they talk about this, it make me understand about how to work in animation company that not only your ability but teamwork, new technology, enduring are the main factor to make you a good animator. |
